Grasp Over Climber’s Fall
A Segue on the Mastery of Self
I long to climb into the light
To have gods’ hands at my arms reach
And fall into spacious rifts of sight
By grasping the world climbing minds focus complete
I choose to think to move the earth
To make life a higher hill to breach
That I may see beyond the horizons dearth
And blinding fog from darker ways of speech
As I ascend such murmured heights of bane
By observing the world in my objective way
I gaze out into the collective’s plain
Hearing no mind speak I see echoes sway
My view so trued I climb higher still
To reach a new plateau over grander fall
And find joy in moving what I will
By this my life is best of all

I enjoyed reading about your hike. I too hiked to the ’stump’ of The Old Man of the Mountain. It was tough to get to. I look forward to reading about your second expedition. Check out a web page I made about my two hikes to the Old Man of the Mountain.
